ABOUT

I am a dressage and show horse rider based in South Australia. In 2014 I was diagnosed with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, at the age of 14. CRPS is a chronic incurable neuroinflammatory disease, which affects my entire right side.

CRPS is ranked as the most painful disease known to mankind (McGill University Pain Scale).  I was later diagnosed with Secondary Dystonia.

Over the years I have been left partially paralysed & learnt how to navigate the world as a wheelchair user.

Just as riding was  becoming all but impossible, my incredible coach, Megan Jones, came into our lives. With her guidance & belief, I learnt how to use new aids in my riding, to accommodate for the partial paralysis of my right leg.

Together Megan & I have trained my first two horses to compete at state and national level in dressage and show horse. With my older horse & best friend, Storm, we were part of the 2018 South Australian Young Rider State Dressage Squad and are eight times South Australian State Champion (SPPHASA). In 2017 we represented South Australia at the Australian Interschool National Championships, after winning the South Australian Secondary Show Horse State Championship. Storm is the first Standardbred in Australia to have done this.

My second horse Kiwi & I competed at his first National Dressage Championships in 2019.

I now have my third competition partner, a nationally competitive Medium & Advanced level Dressage pony. Together we were on the 2022/2023 SA Futures Pony Dressage Squad & competed at the 2022 Australian Dressage Championships.

We have also successfully competed & placed at Adelaide & Melbourne Royal shows.

Between the three horses, we have been shortlisted as state finalists for the Gillian Rolton Youth Development Scholarship four times (2016, 17, 18, 20).

Outside of horses I have dedicated my professional career to being a passionate disability advocate. I can't change what has happened to me, but I can use it to try & make the world a better place for others with disability.

I graduated from the University of South Australia in 2024 with a double degree in Psychology & Human Movement.

I was a registered elite athlete with UniSA during my study & very fortunate to have been named the 'Most Outstanding Athlete with a Disability' in 2021.

My horses are my purpose, my best friends, and my freedom. I am forever grateful for everything they provide me.
